What does the transition to a fulfilment partner look like?

The transition happens in steps: a proposal based on your order profile, clear agreements on paper, the system connection, stocking your inventory, and a test order before going live.

Switching to a fulfilment partner is done in steps, with a clear endpoint for each stage. You do not switch your webshop over overnight: you build the new operation alongside your existing setup and only make the switch when everything is fully in place.

1. The initial conversation and proposal

It all starts with your order profile. How many orders do you send, how many items are typically in an order, what kind of products are they, and where are they going? Based on this information, we provide a proposal that fits your actual operations. Requests are followed up within one business day.

2. Agreements on paper

Whatever you agree upon will be included in the contract, along with the terms and conditions. Be sure to carefully review the notice period and the terms that apply if you decide to leave. At Cenfil, there is no minimum contract term, and the notice period is six calendar months.

3. Connecting your webshop

Your webshop is linked to the fulfilment environment so that orders flow in automatically. You keep your own webshop and your own e-commerce environment. Nothing changes on the side where your customers place their orders.

4. Moving your stock to the warehouse

Your inventory is registered and delivered according to the delivery instructions. That’s when the item numbers, barcodes, and quantities must match. If the delivery goes smoothly, your inventory will be in the correct locations shortly thereafter, and you’ll be able to see it in your own Picqer account.

5. The test order

Before going live, send a test order through the entire supply chain. This will show whether the order is received correctly, whether the right item is picked, whether the packaging is correct, and whether the shipping label is generated correctly.

6. Going live

After that, you make the switch. From this moment on, your orders are handled by the fulfilment operation, and you have a dedicated contact person who knows your business. What you continue to manage yourself is your webshop, your product range, and customer contact.

What happens to your pending orders

Your old and new setups will run side by side for a short time. Orders that have already been picked are completed at the old location, and from the moment of the switch, new orders are processed through the new operation. Agree on the exact time of the switch in advance so no orders fall through the cracks.

What determines the turnaround time

How long a transition takes mainly depends on your side: how quickly your product data and barcodes are in order, and when your stock can be delivered. There are no startup costs, so the hurdle lies in the preparation rather than an upfront investment.
