How do I keep track of my inventory?
You'll get your own Picqer account with real-time inventory, locations, and updates. The dashboard shows the status for all carriers combined.
Your inventory is stored in the warehouse, but you can view it in real time. You’ll receive your own account in Picqer, the warehouse management software that Cenfil uses. There, you can see, for each item, how much is in stock, what’s reserved for pending orders, and what’s in transit.
What You'll See in Picqer
For each item, you can see the current stock level, its location in the warehouse, and the transactions associated with it: what was received, what was picked, and what was returned. So you don’t have to ask how much is left—you can just check it yourself.
Your orders are listed there as well. You can see whether an order has been picked, packed, and shipped, and when that happened.
What You See in the Dashboard
In addition, there is a Cenfil dashboard that looks beyond the warehouse. It allows you to track the status of each order across all carriers in one place, rather than in three separate track-and-trace systems. If a shipment gets held up, you’ll see it there, and you can contact the carrier directly through Cenfil.
Why It's More Than Just Convenience
Having visibility into your inventory is the foundation of your purchasing and sales. You want to know when to reorder, which items aren’t selling, and whether a promotion is supported by what’s on the shelf. Without up-to-date figures, you’ll have to guess—and guessing costs money on both ends: lost revenue or inventory that doesn’t sell.
The same applies to your customer service. A question about where a package is can be answered in a few seconds if the status is clearly displayed.
What you'll continue to do on your own
Purchasing remains your responsibility. You decide what comes in, when, and in what quantities. The warehouse handles the order fulfillment and keeps records. The data is there to support your decisions, not to make them for you.
Who Has Access
Think about who should have access to your account. Your customer service team needs different information than your purchasing team: one wants to know the status of an order, while the other needs to see inventory levels and transaction history. Agree on this when setting up the account, so no one has to ask you for information they can look up themselves.
Integration with Your Online Store
By default, inventory changes in Picqer are updated in real time across all your connected online stores. If the warehouse sells the last item, your online store will see it immediately. This prevents the most frustrating situation in e-commerce: accepting an order for something that’s no longer in stock.
Keep in mind the difference between the two types of inventory. Your online store only tracks available inventory—that is, what’s still for sale. Picqer also knows how much is actually on the shelf, how much of that is reserved for pending orders, and what’s in transit. If those two numbers don’t match, it’s usually not an error but rather the difference between on-hand and available inventory.
